This resume is my music porfolio made of a compilation of teaching vocal/instrumental music, Web Developing skills, Music Therapy modalities, Interpretation/Translation, and World Languages Teacher (French, Spanish) – to promote a broader understand of Music Education.

Teach general music, sight-reading – classroom instruments – beginner’s guitar -Performed the K-3 Musical: My Town, my World – Holiday music. use of educational platforms (bookcreator, screencastify, earsketch, google apps, and more) to enhance music and technology way into the 21st century new age of learning, creating and producing quality work.

Organized therapeutic activities, such as games, sing along, rhythm band for adult daycare attendees. Wrote IEP and Progress Notes.

Organized therapeutic programs for the elderly: sing along, memory lane, rhythm band, entertainment to promote positive attitude and high self-esteem. Provided music and sensory based 1-1 tactile activities to increase fine motor skill functions. Wrote monthly progress notes, quarterly and annual IEP on each resident. Maintained high functioning residents’ involvement in the community: movies, shopping, etc.

1990-1993

Music Therapist – Palm Gardens Nursing Home, New York. .

Provided Music therapy for the elderly: sing along, memory lane, rhythm band, entertainment to promote positive attitude and high self-esteem. Provided 1-1 music and sensory based tactile activities to increase fine motor skills to elderly residents with Alzheimers’ Diseases and those recovering from strokes. Wrote Monthly progress notes, quarterly and annual IEP.

INTERVIEW AND AWARD

Interviewed by THE HAITIAN TIMES in April 2001, regarding my work as a music therapist.

In December 2008, I taught and directed 2 musicals: “We Haz Jazz” Grades 4-8 and E-I-E-I-Ooooops Grades K-3,

and 1 instrumental ensemble program: guitars and classroom instruments, Grades 4-8, during the same week. I submitted the videos of those three performances to the DC Commission on The Arts and Humanities. Spring 2009 of the same school year, I was one of the finalists, and one of nominees for Outstanding Performing Arts Teacher in The District of Columbia.
